• This marine VHF antenna is specifically designed for mounting on the masthead of sailboats. Its dimensions have been kept as small as possible to reduce weight, wind load, and cost.
• Despite its small size, the antenna is highly efficient and is fully capable of handling the full 50 W output power of typical marine VHF transmitters.
• The tapered ½ λ stainless steel radiator, together with the chrome-plated brass housing and the stainless steel corner bracket, forms an antenna that withstands the corrosive environment at the masthead.
• The end-fed dipole design makes the antenna independent of ground planes, radials, or other auxiliary arrangements.
• The whip antenna should not be mounted parallel to or near other metal parts, such as Windex, guy wires, etc. A clear and as high as possible mounting is preferable, as otherwise the SWR and the radiation pattern will be affected.
